1831年創立。ローマカトリック・イエズス会によって設立されたリベラルアーツカレッジ。全米で6番目の歴史を誇るカトリック系大学。所在地のオハイオ州シンシナティーはオハイオ川沿いに位置する歴史的な街で、ケンタッキー州にも近い。かつてイギリスの首相が「世界でもっとも美しい街」と評価したこともある。ローマカトリック思想を教育理念に掲げる伝統的な教育を行いながら、現在ではオハイオ州で3番目の規模を誇る教育機関に成長した。
