大学の紹介
1846年創立。ウィスコンシン州が州として成立する２年前に設立したという、同州で最も古い歴史を持つ大学。キリスト教系私立大学。教育理念として「総合的知識、一生涯にわたるスキル、経験、 確固たる価値観」の４本柱を掲げ、多様で変化の激しい今日の世界に積極的な役割を果たすことのできる人材の育成を目指す。卒業生にはデルコンピュータ上席副社長のジェームス・シュナイダー氏、作家のジョン・ボールなどがいる。コミュニケーションやビジネスの学部に力を入れている。ユニークなプログラムとしては保険統計学、 犯罪学などがある。異文化理解にも力を入れ、１月と５月に教授引率の海外研修プログラムを実施している。
